Debate: "Investment advantages of Warmia and Mazury. Development prospects for the wood and furniture industry".
On the 30th of November 2018 a representative of Egger Biskupiec sp. z o.o., Mr. Waldemar Zawiślak took part in a debate organized by the Marshall Office of Warmia and Mazury on the investment potential of Warmia and Mazury.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Marshal's Office - Mrs. Wioletta Śląska- Zyśk, Dr. Wiesława Lizińska - professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury, Department of Social and Regional Policy, Mr. Michał Strzelecki - Director of the Office of the Polish Chamber of Furniture Manufacturers, Andrzej Pazurkiewicz - Plenipotentiary of the Management Board Szynaka Meble and Waldemar Zawiślak - Sales Director, Member of the Management Board of EGGER BISKUPIEC Sp. z o.o.
During the debate, it was noted that the economic development of the region based on one of the three intelligent specialisations of the province, which is wood and furniture.
Mr. Waldemar Zawiślak explained to the participants of the debate what were the arguments in favour of choosing Warmia, and more precisely the Biskupiec, as a place for the construction of the new Egger factory. He stressed not only the well-developed transport infrastructure, but above all the access to local workers experienced in wood processing.
An extremely important message was Mr Michał Strzelecki's statement that the level of development of the region is already so high that we compete not only with regions in the country, which seem more developed, but with the whole Europe. The representative of the Polish Chamber of Furniture Manufacturers presented the general situation on the European and world markets in terms of furniture production and sales as well as the projected directions of development, with particular emphasis on the potential of Warmia and Mazury.
