EGGER Biskupiec has supported local library in Biskupiec
We are pleased to announce that at the beginning of the school year our company supported the local Municipal Library in Biskupiec with didactic materials and books. On the 19th of September 2018, a representative of Egger Biskupiec, Mr. Waldemar Zawislak, handed over to Ms. Barbara Wawrykiewicz a set of books and Kamishibai theater together with books for the theatre.
Involvement in the life of the local community is one of the most valued values by EGGER Group employees. Its employees are mainly residents of the surrounding production plants and the region. That is why lasting neighbourly relations are so important to EGGER. It supports the inhabitants of the localities in which its factories operate, both in the area of social and educational activities. Supporting didactic actions is one of the company's priorities.
Among the donated materials was the Kamishibai theatre with a set of 8 fairy tales, which allows for a new form of work with the youngest readers. Paper theatre is an ideal combination of narration and book presentation. Most of Kamishibai are fairy tales, fairy tales or stories consisting of 10-16 beautifully illustrated cards with text on the back. Their presentation is accompanied by a unique atmosphere created by a portable theatre with which the illustrated stories are presented in the form of paper "slides". The techniques and qualities of such a performance help to achieve a magical effect of concentration, and this form of storytelling or reading is a truly theatrical experience. When the narrator reads the text and puts the cards down one by one, further illustrations appear in front of the audience, keeping the interest in the aura of uniqueness and magic.
Some of the submitted titles are addressed to adult readers of the library. The donated books are printed in large font in order to facilitate their reading by the older generation of Biskupiec inhabitants.
We are glad that we were able to support the cultural institution - to bring joy to children, as well as the pleasure of communing with age-appropriate books to elderly people.
