EGGER met media representatives
One of the largest global companies of the chipboard industry, EGGER Group met representatives of the regional and national media in Olsztyn on the 27th of April 2017. The organized press conference was focused on the construction of the first Polish factory in Biskupiec, in Warminsko-Mazurskie voivodship. The main point of the press meeting was a presentation of the investment.
The meeting in the Malta Cafe in Olsztyn was led by EGGER Sales Director in Poland, Mr. Waldemar Zawiślak, who provided key information about the planned factory, such as the benefits of the investment for the local community and the reasons why the factory is being located in Biskupiec.
The first Polish factory EGGER will be the eighteenth EGGER Group plant in Europe. Estimated value of EGGER's investment in Biskupiec is approximately 1 billion PLN. The plant will produce about 650 thousand m3 of chipboards per year, using a state-of-the-art technology. Furthermore, EGGER will create 400 direct new jobs and 600 additional, indirect jobs created by business partners and local small and medium businesses.
According to the investor, the chosen city offers access to well-developed transport infrastructure, both by road and by rail, ensuring adequate transport of cargo. Another advantage of Biskupiec is the potential of local workforce and local community experience in wood processing.
The factory in Biskupiec will be equipped with the best available technology in order to minimize an impact of the plant on environment. EGGER mission is "More from wood". Factory production is organized in a closed cycle to protect sources and increase the share of recycled wood - said Waldemar Zawiślak, Sales Director of EGGER in Poland.
The conference was attended by a dozen representatives of the local and nationwide media. Kamil Kozłowski, the Mayor of Biskupiec also took part in the meeting. At the end of the official part of the conference, Waldemar Zawiślak answered questions asked by journalists.
