Biskupiec Volunteer Fire Brigade has got a new flag!
Handover ceremony of Biskupiec Volunteer Fire Brigade’s new banner was held on the 17th of September 2017. EGGER is a one of the new flag’s founders.
The ceremony began with a Mass in the Church of Blessed Karolina Kózkówna in Biskupiec. Afterwards, standard-bearers, subordinates of the fire brigade and invited guests went to the Wolności Square in order to take part in a farewell of old banner and welcoming ceremony of the new one.
Gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as "Merit for Firefighting", "Exemplary Firefighter" and "Long-term work" badges have been given to selected firefighters.
According to tradition, the founders of the new banner drive a symbolic nails to its stick. At the ceremony EGGER representative has done it as one of the sponsors.
Biskupiec Voluntary Fire Brigade has got a rich history. The first unit was created in 1889, in former Eastern Prussia. It was reactivated after second world war in 1945. Its first flag was created in1946. Nowadays, the Biskupiec fire brigade uses state-of-the-art equipment to carry out advanced rescue and firefighting operations.
